Are you a seasoned test automation professional, with the ability to pick up a manual testing duty once in a while? Are you eager to learn and grow as a hybrid coder/test engineer? If you have succeeded in an agile setting and even a start-up environment too, bring your positive spirit and check this out:
Helvar www.helvar.com is a 100 year old Finnish product company, into both software and hardware: advanced lighting control systems, products and services. Helvar R&D is a 75 person technology group within the 250 person lighting solutions and components company. Based in Finland with R&D offices in both Espoo and outside London, we develop intelligent energy efficient products and solutions for global customers in 50 countries. Inside our R&D Agile organization, we are developing new IoT solutions with products ranging from our own hardware and embedded software products and sensors, to mobile applications, developer APIs and cloud services. We even have our own advanced electronics factory, primarily for prototyping and production ramp ups.
You will participate in designing new features, designing test cases per feature, and scripting the tests. You will accomplish this by working closely with the Feature Development team, currently 10 software developers for embedded and node.js / AWS cloud development. You will also work closely with product managers and UX designers.
Your goal in this role will be to enhance and grow the testing culture and processes, as well as participating in system testing and customer pilot projects. Your career path at Helvar could lead you to Test Manager, or System Test Lead, or elsewhere in Development on a coding path.
Our vision is to create an holistic and ‘pure’ software development culture which salutes and encourages testing intertwined with coding. This hybrid approach to test driven development is already in place, so what we need is some ground work due to our hardware related nature of our work. Thus it will be good if you see HW/SW combination as an opportunity to grow. Ideally, you will own the e2e testing and the environments, while occasionally tackling those rare cases in manual testing.
