Academic Work is looking for a Junior IT Systems Administrator to our client Varian Medical Systems.

This job is a staffing position, which means that you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Varian Medical Systems.

In this position you will be working to maintain infrastructure for physical & virtual environments, setup, install, configure, and deploy software/hardware used in verification/validation/evaluation. You will also debug installation, configuration and deployment related problems and create backups (retention and recovery) for physical & virtual environments. Your duties will also entail providing documentation related to infrastructure, installation, configuration and deployment. In this position you will have the support of your team consisting of four members and the opportunity to develop your skills to more demanding assignments.

The job includes:

•   Providing support on infrastructure, installation, configuration and deployment
•   Maintaining physical and virtual environments, partly in test labs and partly in the cloud
•   Documentation

Etsimämme henkilö on

Our ideal candidate has a relevant background in IT and ideally experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems. You have knowledge of IT security and data backup/retention/recovery and computer networks. We appreciate working experience but any related free time projects are also seen a plus. You also have good problem solving skills and are interested in taking matters forward. You are not afraid to give new ideas and to ask for help if that is needed. As a person you are eager and have a capability to learn. You also have fluent skills in English.
