Generation division is responsible for the large scale power production, physical optimization and trading activities in the Nordic area. This division comprises wind, nuclear, hydro and thermal power production, portfolio management and trading, industrial intelligence and nuclear services.
You will be part of the Communications team in Fortum’s largest division Generation which is responsible for wind, hydro, nuclear, and thermal power production in the Nordics. The division also includes trading, power portfolio optimization, industrial intelligence as well as new business offerings such as nuclear services, solar energy solutions and virtual battery services.
Your role is to have overall responsibility for planning and implementation of internal and external wind power communications in the Nordic countries and hydro power communications in Finland to ensure acceptability among our stakeholders with focus on local stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include:
- overall responsibility for Nordic wind power communications
- planning and implementation of hydro power communications in Finland
- following and analysing public opinion and discussions relating to wind and hydro power, and planning and taking actions to improve perceptions and acceptability
- local and regional media relations; development of national and international publicity and perception in cooperation with Fortum Group Communications
- local stakeholder dialogue and organizing events and seminars
- issue management and crisis communications in wind and hydro related issues
- change management communications
- internal communications
While you report to the Vice President, Communications, Generation division, you are also a member of the wind business area's management team. You will be based at Fortum headquarters in Espoo, Finland.

You are a driven communications professional with a suitable university degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience in communications management, preferably in an international environment. You have solid experienced in business communications, local stakeholder management and media relations. You have a strong track record in strategic thinking and tactical planning and the ability to execute under pressure and have good collaboration skills. You can create engaging content and have a good understanding of the use of various communications methods and channels. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are fluent in Finnish, Swedish and English. Experience from the energy industry is considered an advantage.
In this role you’ll get the opportunity to travel mainly within the Nordic countries.
